Fun With Microwaves

    Florescent Light Tube
This is those not faint of heart. Try sticking the largest possible florescent light in your
microwave and switching it on. Make sure you only set the timer for one second and
stand back.

    Normal Light Globe
For this experiment it requires a glass jar and for safety reasons with a plastic lid
(to prevent sparks). Put the light globe in the jar and screw the lid on tight, then put it
in the centre and shut the door. Set the timer for five seconds and if your wondering
why its in the glass jar, its because there is a probable chance that it will explode and
you don't really want fine glass everywhere do you?

    Compact Disc
Try a CD in your microwave on high for 5 - 10 seconds with the shiny side down and then
take out the CD and see the results. If you dont want to sacrifice one of your good CD's
then try to get one of those ozemail or other free cds. Your CD should like like a river bed
when it hasn't rained for many years.
